A
“Showier” Horse
By Connie Benjaminson
“He
has that bloom that makes him showy.”
In May of 2003 I purchased a 4 year
old registered quarter horse gelding, “On Chips Honor”, at a sale
in Minnesota. He is a solid bay with pleasure breeding.
The horse was a bit on the thin side and had no shine to his coat.
The other horses in the sale were shiny and were shed out. He had
long hair and a dull coat. I got him home and started the typical
things you do to horses with long hair. I wormed him, checked his
teeth and started feeding him grain and high protein feed supplement.
Six weeks later I still didn’t have a shed out horse. This gelding
was in such poor shape we couldn’t keep shoes on him. My farrier
suggested aluminum shoes because they work better on poor condition
hooves.
On the 4th of July we were riding in our local parade. Our local
dealer for EquiPride™ asked two of my horse friends and myself if
we would like to try a new product. We all said “yes” and agreed
to try it. It was the best move we could have made! After six weeks,
the end of August, the gelding had finally completely shed off and
acquired a rich gleaming coat. He’s not a horse that will ever carry
extra weight but he is now fit and healthy. I just pulled his shoes
last Saturday, which stayed on for six weeks and the farrier said
his hooves are coming along.
The EquiPride™ was the answer. I had tried other products at first
but nothing worked like EquiPride™. I highly recommend trying it.
It worked on my gelding and he needed something badly. I can hardly
wait to show him off to my friends. He has that ‘bloom’ that makes
him showy, thanks to EquiPride™.
