"Cutting out Colic"

Judge-A-Doc, a 16-year-old American Quarter Horse, was brought out of retirement to teach one more rider the fine art of Cutting. During the first nine months out of retirement, Judge had episodes of gas and obstructive type colic every two-four weeks. Judge was wormed, fed, hayed, exercised, and watered on a strict schedule. In spite of all this, Judge seemed to colic for no reason. His droppings also continued to be loose and he often suffered from diarrhea.

At a local NCHA competition, Judge’s owner, Karla Ashabranner, was complaining about not being able to compete because “once again, Judge had colic.” A fellow competitor and distributor, Rick Reeves, introduced her to EquiPride from SweetPro.
