Calf Roping Horse Recovers

Tommy Wilson of Marshall, TX has been a farrier for 20 years. He travels east Texas and western Louisiana tending to barrel horses and rodeo performers mainly.

Recently Tommy came across SweetPro Feeds’ Vitamin, Mineral and Digestive Aide, EquiPride ™. He is very impressed with the great benefit EquiPride ™ has been to the horses in his care and as an example tells us about his 9-year old son Ian’s current calf roping horse. Two years ago his son’ previous mount was hurt and he was loaned a 32-year-old horse that had roped calves all its life. However, this horse, named “Light Bread,” was very thin, broken down, and so lame that after Tommy trimmed his hooves he fell down as he tried to run off. Tommy would bute him every day to allow the horse to walk and often expected to come home and find Light Bread dead. But, when Tommy started Light Bread on EquiPride ™ he noticed that the horse was gaining weight and his eyes looked better. He then decided to stop buteing and found that Light Bread wasn’t lame anymore. He continued to put on weight, rebuild muscle mass, became thick and healthy and is now Ian’s full time calf roping horse. People think Tommy is lying when he says that Light Bread is 34 years old. He looks only 10 or 12!

Team Roping Horse with Bad Hooves Heals

Tommy goes on to say that one of his clients has a twelve-year-old horse named “Harry Snaps,” a team roping horse. Tommy has been shoeing Harry for 7-8 years, and declares that his feet were terrible. They are black feet but were not able to hold shoes and chunks would fall out leaving gaps. The owner had tried everything—special shoes and medicines, but nothing helped. Earlier this year, Tommy convinced him to feed EquiPride ™ to Harry. Before the first pail was used up, the horse’s feet had all grown out and now 4 months later, his feet are completely normal and sound.

In addition, Tommy says that his eight-year-old working horse is so changed after being on EquiPride ™ that people ask if he’s the same horse!

Tommy Wilson now recommends that all his clients feed EquiPride ™ to their horses. It makes his job a lot easier!
